As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring that the kitchen environment is clean, organised, and efficient. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in a fast-paced restaurant or hotel setting, with opportunities to learn about food preparation and culinary practices.

Duties

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and dining areas. Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils promptly and efficiently. Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or cooks. Ensure that all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use. Help with stock rotation and inventory management of kitchen supplies. Support the culinary team during busy service periods by providing assistance where needed. Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.

Skills

Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment is advantageous but not essential. Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure. A willingness to learn and help others within a team-oriented environment. Basic understanding of food preparation techniques is beneficial. Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with kitchen staff. A positive attitude towards work and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
