ABOUT THE POSITION



As our Kitchen Porter you're essential in ensuring the successful running of the kitchen, working closely with the Kitchen and Front Of House Team to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations.

We're keen to meet a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter who takes pride in what they do and thrives in a busy Hotel environment. You'll be able to interpret instructions and use your own common sense to work independently when required whilst being flexible enough to step in and support colleagues during busy service periods. Preparing and cleaning the catering environment including kitchen surfaces, equipment and floors Managing the pot wash process and efficiently supplying dining equipment to the Kitchen and Front Of House teams Assisting with End of Service cleaning and kitchen shutdown Assisting the Chefs in the preparation of food as directed (vegetables and salads) Helping with the movement of goods into kitchen stores Stock monitoring to ensure minimum levels of supply Complying with HSE, COSHH and Food Safety regulations
Please note this position will require you to operate on a rota basis which may include early starts/late finishes and some weekend work.

ABOUT YOU



You'll be someone who can work under their own steam, happy to be part of a fast paced culinary environment and able to 'change gears' when the pace demands it. In addition you'll be keen to show us the following:

Your previous experience of a commercial kitchen environment/entry-level culinary knowledge

OR

a real desire and potential to be trained in the position Examples of how you prioritise and manage multiple tasks When you've demonstrated attention to detail and high standards Where you've had to maintain focus under pressure How well you can work with a diverse workforce and be a contributing part of a service focused team That you have an understanding of regulatory compliance in a catering environment
Please note that this position requires physical stamina as you will be required to operate machinery, be on your feet for most of the shift and carry out tasks requiring manual handling and lifting.

Pay: 12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 45 per week
