The Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring that the kitchen is clean, organised, and fully equipped for food preparation. This position is ideal for individuals who have a passion for hospitality and are eager to learn more about the culinary arts within a restaurant or hotel setting.
Responsibilities
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and dining areas.
Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by the chefs.
Wash, dry, and store kitchen utensils, pots, and pans efficiently.
Ensure that all kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained properly.
Help organise deliveries and store food items appropriately.
Support chefs during busy service periods by providing assistance where needed.
Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.
Experience
Previous experience in a hospitality or culinary environment is advantageous but not essential.
A willingness to learn and develop skills in food preparation and kitchen operations.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a high-pressure environment.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
A positive attitude towards helping others within the kitchen team.
