Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff to deliver excellent service. The position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience within the hospitality industry, particularly in food preparation, cooking, and restaurant operations.

Duties

Wash, clean, and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to ensure hygiene standards are met. Assist with basic food preparation tasks under the supervision of chefs or kitchen managers. Support the organisation of storage areas, ensuring ingredients and supplies are properly stored and labelled. Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and other kitchen areas throughout shifts. Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations. Support the overall smooth running of the kitchen by performing additional tasks as required during busy periods.

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is advantageous but not essential; a keen willingness to learn is essential. Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen hygiene standards. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends or evenings if necessary. A positive attitude and team-oriented approach are vital for success in this role.
