Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Kitchen Porter to join our team at one of our workplace restaurants in London NW10.


Working 25 hours a week, 11am to 4pm, 5 out of 7 days. Proposed start date 1st June 2025.

You will maintain the highest standards of service presentation, cleanliness and food preparation, working as part of the team with great customer care skills and attention to detail. Your role is vital to the overall functioning of a kitchen, as it contributes to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment for food preparation. The role can be physically demanding and often involves repetitive tasks.


Responsibilities will include:




To help the chef and Chef Manager with food preparation (if applicable) To ensure the counters and front of house are maintained to the highest standards, in terms of tidiness and cleanliness. To ensure all trays are kept clean and well stocked. To ensure crockery and cutlery are clean and highly polished. To help customers where possible and provide good customer relations, promoting good customer care to enhance the customer experience in the restaurant. To work in a tidy, organized and clean way To ensure washing up does not build up. To clean plates before going through the dishwasher To ensure that all plates and crockery is clean and dried when it comes out of the dishwasher. To ensure that all pans are cleaned and dried when they come out of the dishwasher. To ensure that all washing up is put away in the correct locations. To put the correct amount of chemicals in the dishwasher To empty any bins into the bin area. To ensure that if the Unit recycles all items are separated and put in the correct bin. To sweep and mop the floor to the highest standard. To put away all deliveries ensuring that all paperwork is completed and delivery notes are given to the Manager To address all site and client personnel appropriately. To ensure the kitchen is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness. To ensure correct stock rotation and food storage procedures.

SAFETY, POLICY & PROCEDURES




Where required to take temperatures of equipment and / or food and record. To complete allocated cleaning duties to the required standard including equipment, walls to 6ft, floors, fixtures, fittings, pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, glassware etc. and use the correct chemicals. Cleaning schedules to be signed. To ensure all hygiene and cleaning procedures are adhered to. To report to the Manager any customer problems To assist with any other duties as required by the Unit Manager. To attend any reasonable request by the Unit Manager. To report any customer complaints and take some remedial action if possible. To report immediately any incidents of accident, fire, theft, loss, damage or other irregularities and take such action as may be appropriate or possible.

ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL & GOVERNANCE (ESG)




Always be conscious of the environmental impact of your activities within the catering operation, i.e., turn off appliances when not in use, use the correct waste bins. You should always be aware of and act on our ESG goals and ensure that our team members also embrace our belief in being planet friendly.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:




To be willing to undertake any training to enhance the role as necessary. Complete all company compulsory training for your role. To always wear the full and correct Company uniform in a clean and tidy fashion. To use the Personal Protective Equipment provided. To relieve in other duties to cover periods of holiday, sickness etc. Have experience working in a similar role and environment Be highly organised and comfortable working in a high-pressured environment Ensure you have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety Keep up standards of hygiene and ensure all areas are clean and tidy Have excellent customer service and social skills Be responsible for the preparation and serving of food to staff Have a can do attitude and will work well as part of a team of 5 Be customer focused Have basic food knowledge Be willing to participate and enjoy working part of the team
