We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced cafe environment. The Kitchen Porter plays a crucial role in supporting the culinary team by ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about the hospitality industry and eager to learn more about food preparation and kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, pots, and pans. Assist chefs with food preparation tasks as required, ensuring that all ingredients are ready for use. Help with the storage and inventory of kitchen supplies, ensuring that items are properly labelled and organised. Keep kitchen equipment clean and in good working order, reporting any maintenance issues to management. Support the culinary team during busy service periods by providing assistance where needed. Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key. Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques is advantageous. Strong work ethic with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Excellent teamwork skills, with a positive attitude towards helping others in the kitchen. Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately. A passion for hospitality and an eagerness to develop culinary skills further.
