The Kitchen Porter/ Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the culinary team by ensuring that the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently. Duties

- Assist with the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables.

- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, pots, and pans.

- Ensure that all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use.

- Help chefs and cooks with various tasks as needed to support food preparation.

- Remove waste and ensure proper disposal in accordance with health and safety regulations.

- Assist in maintaining stock levels of kitchen supplies and report shortages to management.

- Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.

- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques is advantageous.

- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.

- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards helping others in the kitchen.

- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by the business needs.

- A passion for culinary arts and hospitality is highly desirable.
