Job Description

At Mada Deli we are looking to hire a kitchen porter.

The Kitchen Porter's primary role is to support FOH & BOH staff by maintaining cleanliness and efficiency. This includes washing dishes, cleaning equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Dishwashing:

Washing pots, pans, plates, cutlery, and other kitchen equipment.

Cleaning:

Maintaining cleanliness of the dishwasher area including floors, walls, and equipment

Waste Management:

Ensuring proper disposal of waste and recycling.

Equipment Maintenance:

Reporting faulty equipment and assisting with cleaning and maintenance.

Hygiene and Safety Compliance:

Following all hygiene and safety regulations, including using chemicals safely and maintaining a clean work environment.

Teamwork:

Collaborating with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
Essential Skills:

Physical Stamina:

The role can be physically demanding, requiring standing for long periods and lifting heavy items.

Attention to Detail:

Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene requires attention to detail.

Ability to Work Under Pressure:

Kitchens can be fast-paced environments, so the ability to work efficiently under pressure is important.

Teamwork:

Working effectively with other kitchen staff is crucial.

Basic Food Safety Knowledge:

Understanding basic food safety principles is helpful.

Flexibility:

Kitchen porters will be required to work evenings and weekends.
