We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by supporting food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting chefs in various tasks. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for the culinary arts and a desire to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced restaurant or hotel environment.
Responsibilities
Assist with food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and utensils.
Support chefs during service by ensuring that all necessary equipment and ingredients are readily available.
Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring that all food handling practices are followed.
Help with the storage of food items, ensuring proper labelling and rotation.
Participate in cleaning duties at the end of each shift to maintain hygiene standards.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow during busy periods.
Requirements
Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not essential.
Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques is an advantage.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced culinary professionals.
