Job Overview:

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our team. The ideal candidate will help maintain a clean and organized kitchen, ensuring all kitchen equipment is properly cleaned, stored, and ready for use. The Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff and helping to maintain a smooth operation throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities:

Cleaning & Sanitizing:

+ Clean kitchen surfaces, floors, walls, and equipment to maintain a hygienic environment.
+ Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans, ensuring they are returned to their proper places in a timely manner.
+ Ensure all kitchen waste is disposed of properly and the kitchen area is kept clean and clutter-free.

Assisting Kitchen Staff:

+ Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks (such as peeling vegetables or portioning ingredients).
+ Help with the delivery and storage of food items, ensuring all items are stored according to food safety standards.

Stock Management:

+ Assist in receiving deliveries and checking stock, ensuring that items are correctly labeled and stored.
+ Keep track of kitchen supplies and notify the manager when stock levels are low.

Health & Safety Compliance:

+ Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper use of cleaning chemicals, safety equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
+ Ensure the kitchen adheres to food hygiene and safety standards at all times.

General Support:

+ Ensure all equipment is in good working condition and notify the manager of any maintenance issues.
+ Support the kitchen team during busy periods, ensuring the kitchen runs efficiently.

Skills & Qualifications:

Strong attention to detail and cleanliness. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Basic knowledge of food hygiene standards. Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. Previous experience in a kitchen environment is a plus but not essential.
