Job Title: Kitchen Porter



Location: Corenucopia by Clare Smyth - Chelsea, London



Schedule: Five days per week



Corenucopia by Clare Smyth, a new luxury bistro in the heart of Chelsea, is seeking an experienced and motivated Kitchen Porter to join the team.

As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a central role in the smooth running and efficiency of the kitchen and its chefs.

Main Duties:



Service Delivery



Support the kitchen team in maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment at all times. Assist the Head Chef, Restaurant Manager and Sous Chef in daily cleaning, setup, and operational support. Complete all cleaning duties as per the kitchen's schedule and report any incomplete tasks or issues to senior chefs. Ensure dishes, utensils, equipment, and kitchen areas are cleaned to the highest standard and returned to the correct place promptly. Use cleaning chemicals safely and correctly, following all instructions and COSHH guidelines. Report any broken or damaged equipment to the Head Chef or Sous Chef. Monitor cleaning and chemical stock levels and notify the kitchen team when supplies are low. Follow proper procedures for waste disposal and recycling, ensuring areas remain tidy and safe. Keep back-of-house corridors clean, dry, and free from obstruction at all times. Ensure all rubbish is removed regularly and disposed of correctly in line with environmental procedures. Assist in the preparation and basic handling of produce as instructed by the chefs. Follow kitchen procedures for safe food storage and stock rotation, particularly when receiving deliveries. Maintain high personal hygiene and adhere to the restaurant's grooming standards. Arrive on time, in full uniform, and ready for duty. Take responsibility for organising your own tasks and managing time effectively.

Learning & Development



Attend all assigned training sessions and show a proactive attitude toward learning. Demonstrate a willingness to grow through guidance from senior chefs and team leaders. Take initiative in developing your skills and understanding of kitchen operations.

Security, Health & Safety



Fully comply with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including those outlined in the restaurant's Health & Safety Policy. Be familiar with COSHH, Food Hygiene Level 1, and Manual Handling procedures. Always use personal protective equipment (PPE) where required. Immediately report any health, safety, or cleanliness issues to the kitchen management team.

Skills & Requirements



Previous experience in a kitchen porter or cleaning role within a high-end or luxury environment is preferred. Strong knowledge of COSHH, Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, and Manual Handling protocols. Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling and heavy lifting. Basic command of the English language. Reliable, punctual, and well-presented, with excellent standards of personal hygiene. Positive, hard-working attitude and team-focused approach.

Pay: 26,000.00 per year
