We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, ensuring smooth daily operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a dynamic restaurant or hotel setting, with scope for development within the hospitality industry. Prior experience in food preparation, cooking, or serving is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Responsibilities
Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to uphold hygiene standards
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen team
Supporting chefs with ingredient organisation and stock replenishment
Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment throughout shifts
Ensuring waste disposal is managed efficiently and in accordance with health and safety regulations
Assisting with the setup and breakdown of service areas before and after service times
Adhering to all health and safety policies to maintain a safe working environment
Requirements
Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or culinary environment is desirable but not mandatory
Knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and hospitality practices is advantageous
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Strong organisational skills and a proactive attitude towards cleanliness and hygiene standards
Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends as required
A positive approach to teamwork and excellent communication skills
Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety in the kitchen environment
