As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring that the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the culinary and hospitality sectors, particularly within restaurants or hotels.

Duties

Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs and kitchen staff. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, and pans. Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use. Help with the delivery and storage of food supplies and ingredients. Support chefs during busy service periods by providing assistance where needed. Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment at all times. Assist in maintaining stock levels of cleaning supplies and report any shortages.

Requirements

A keen interest in culinary arts or hospitality is preferred. Previous experience in a kitchen environment is an advantage but not essential. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team. A proactive attitude towards helping others, particularly cooks and chefs. Flexibility with working hours, including evenings and weekends as required. Good understanding of food hygiene practices.

Pay: From 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 45 per week
