Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. This role involves supporting the kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring the smooth running of the kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will be organised, efficient, and eager to develop their skills within the hospitality sector. Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or culinary setting is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in a professional kitchen.

Responsibilities

Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to uphold hygiene standards Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen staff Keeping the kitchen clean and organised, including work surfaces and storage areas Supporting the movement of supplies and ingredients around the kitchen Ensuring waste is disposed of properly and recycling procedures are followed Assisting with stock rotation and inventory checks where necessary Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times to maintain a safe working environment

Experience

Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality environments such as restaurants, hotels, or catering services is desirable but not mandatory Familiarity with kitchen operations and food hygiene standards is beneficial Experience in serving or working within a hospitality setting can be an advantage A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills within a fast-paced environment Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
