Job Overview



Kitchen Porter required at the Walpole Bay Hotel duties will include washing cutlery, crockery, glassware, and breakfast cooking equipment both by hand and with a dishwasher, clearing rubbish, cleaning kitchen and prep area to a high standard. The hours usually will be 9am - 1 pm daily, 3-5 days a week including weekends however the applicant should be able to be flexible with hours.

In the role of Kitchen Porter / Cleaner, you will be essential in maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment, supporting the culinary team, and ensuring that all food preparation areas are sanitized and organized. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will utilize your relevant skills and kitchen experience to assist in daily operations. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced culinary environment. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all surfaces are sanitised and tidy. Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils promptly to support ongoing kitchen operations. Help with the storage of food items, ensuring proper rotation and labelling of ingredients. Dispose of waste correctly and maintain recycling practices within the kitchen. Support other kitchen staff as needed during busy service periods to ensure timely meal delivery. Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times to maintain a safe working environment.

Experience



Previous experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hotel setting is advantageous but not essential.

Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a positive attitude. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure high standards of cleanliness and efficiency. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required by the business needs.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: Up to 12.71 per hour
