Job Summary

DOCS Restaurant Newcastle are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced hospitality environment on a part time basis.

Working approximately 3 shifts on a rota basis which will include evening and weekend work such as Sunday day time no Sunday evening work is required!

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations by ensuring cleanliness and organisation, assisting with food preparation, and maintaining a smooth workflow. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about the culinary arts and eager to help in a vibrant kitchen setting.

Duties

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, and pans. Assist chefs with food preparation tasks as required, ensuring ingredients are ready for cooking. Organise and store kitchen supplies efficiently to facilitate easy access during service. Support the culinary team by helping with basic cooking tasks under supervision. Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained properly. Dispose of waste in accordance with health and safety regulations. Assist in receiving deliveries and storing food items appropriately.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a hospitality or kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential. A keen interest in food preparation and culinary practices. Strong organisational skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure. Excellent teamwork skills and a willingness to help others in the kitchen. Understanding of health and safety regulations within a food service environment. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.

Pay: 7.50-12.60 per hour
