The Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by maintaining cleanliness and assisting with food preparation tasks. Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, pots, and pans. Assist chefs with food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables and preparing ingredients. Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use. Support the cooking team during busy service periods by providing timely assistance. Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Help with stock management by receiving deliveries and storing supplies appropriately. Participate in maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the kitchen.

Skills

Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential. Basic food preparation skills and knowledge of cooking techniques are advantageous. Familiarity with culinary practices and hospitality standards will be beneficial. Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure. A positive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced chefs. Excellent teamwork skills, contributing to a harmonious working atmosphere in the kitchen.
