We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team. The Kitchen Porter plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of the kitchen environment, ensuring that our culinary team can focus on delivering exceptional dishes. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in a fast-paced kitchen setting while contributing to a high standard of hospitality.
Duties
Assist with food preparation, including washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients as directed by chefs.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, and utensils.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use.
Support chefs during service by keeping the kitchen stocked with necessary supplies.
Dispose of waste in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Help maintain a safe working environment by adhering to hygiene standards and protocols.
Assist with basic cooking tasks when required, under the supervision of experienced chefs.
Skills
Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen is advantageous but not essential.
Familiarity with food preparation techniques and culinary practices is beneficial.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail to maintain cleanliness standards.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while demonstrating a positive attitude.
Good communication skills to liaise effectively with kitchen staff and management.

Salary NJC- SCP 2 pro rata 16,275.00 per annum. (monthly salary, paid in 12 instalments of 1,356.25 gross per month). Term time only plus 3 weeks work during school holidays.
This role is subject to an enhanced DBS and referencing checks in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024.
