We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to be part of our friendly and passionate team. We used to run restaurants and so cook with the same skills but now supply food products into First and Business Class airlines. Training will be provided, a positive working attitude and also kind, supportive approach to other team members is essential.
Our Kitchen porter role runs Monday to Friday generally 10am - 6pm but we can be flexible with these exact hours if needed.
Our Kitchen Porter will support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. This role is vital in ensuring smooth food service operations and upholding high standards of hygiene and safety.
The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning kitchen equipment, assisting with basic food preparation, and supporting the overall functionality of the kitchen area as well as helping the team with packing products into boxes for our weekly production run.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within the food manufacturing industry and develop culinary skills.
Duties
Wash, clean, and sterilise pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment to ensure hygiene standards are met.
Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and preparing ingredients under supervision.
Support the kitchen team during service periods by organising supplies and maintaining cleanliness.
Ensure all work areas are kept tidy and free from hazards at all times.
Dispose of waste materials appropriately and recycle where possible.
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications
Previous experience in manufacturing would be advantageous but also restaurant, hotel, or hospitality experience would be helpful. Training will be provided.
Knowledge of food preparation, cooking, or culinary practices is useful but not essential.
Experience of working within a busy kitchen or manufacturing environment is beneficial.
Strong organisational skills with an eye for cleanliness and attention to detail.
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks within the kitchen setting. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about food and / or manufacturing and eager to develop their culinary knowledge while supporting a professional kitchen team.
