Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, ensuring smooth daily operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within the hospitality industry, particularly in food preparation and kitchen maintenance. The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting chefs and kitchen staff by handling cleaning duties and assisting with basic food prep tasks.

Duties

Wash, clean, and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards. Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients under supervision. Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas throughout the shift. Support the kitchen team during busy periods by helping with serving and replenishing supplies. Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed. Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times. Assist with stock organisation and storage to facilitate efficient kitchen operations.

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided. Familiarity with food preparation, cooking processes, or culinary environments is advantageous. Experience in serving or working within a fast-paced kitchen setting will be considered beneficial. A positive attitude towards teamwork and willingness to learn new skills are essential qualities for success in this role.
