We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in supporting the culinary team by ensuring that the kitchen is clean, organised, and well-equipped for food preparation. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the hospitality sector, particularly within hotels and restaurants.

Duties

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all kitchen areas, including work surfaces, floors, and equipment. Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by the culinary team. Wash and sanitise dishes, pots, pans, and utensils efficiently. Organise and store kitchen supplies and ingredients appropriately. Support chefs during busy service periods by helping with basic cooking tasks when required. Ensure that all waste is disposed of correctly and recycling practices are followed. Assist with inventory management by helping to keep track of stock levels and reporting shortages to management. Follow health and safety regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key. Basic culinary skills or knowledge of food preparation processes would be advantageous. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment. A positive attitude with a strong work ethic and commitment to teamwork. Good communication skills to interact effectively with kitchen staff. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
