The Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in supporting the culinary team by ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. Duties

Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs and cooks. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas. Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other cooking equipment promptly to ensure a steady workflow. Help with the delivery and storage of food supplies and ingredients. Support chefs during busy service periods by providing assistance where needed. Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Participate in regular cleaning schedules, including deep cleaning tasks as required.

Skills

Previous experience in a culinary or kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential. Strong organisational skills with an ability to multitask effectively in a busy setting. A willingness to learn and develop skills within the hospitality sector. Good communication skills to work collaboratively with team members. Basic knowledge of food hygiene standards is beneficial. A proactive attitude towards assisting cooks and chefs in their duties.
