to join our team. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchens, allowing our chefs to focus on creating exceptional dishes for our guests. Position Overview:



The Kitchen Porter will be responsible for ensuring that all kitchen areas are kept clean and well-organized, assisting with basic food preparation tasks, and supporting the kitchen team as needed during service. This is a vital role in maintaining a safe and efficient kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:



Cleaning & Hygiene:

Clean all kitchen areas, including floors, surfaces, and equipment, to maintain high levels of hygiene. Wash and sanitize all kitchen utensils, pots, pans, and cooking tools. Ensure that all waste is disposed of properly and efficiently. Maintain the cleanliness of the storage areas, ensuring food items are stored correctly and safely.

Supporting the Kitchen Team:

Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks (e.g., washing and peeling vegetables, preparing garnishes, etc.). Deliver clean plates, cutlery, and utensils to service areas when required. Ensure that kitchen staff have the necessary equipment and supplies throughout service. Support with stock rotation and help keep the storeroom organized.

Health & Safety:

Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring the kitchen operates within the required guidelines. Assist with the maintenance of the kitchen's equipment, ensuring it is safe and in good working order. Help monitor kitchen waste and support in the reduction of food wastage.

General Support:

Help to load and unload deliveries. Maintain a positive and proactive attitude, contributing to the smooth running of the kitchen team. Support with deep cleaning tasks on quieter days to ensure high standards are maintained.

Skills & Qualifications:



Essential:

A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team. Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently under pressure. High standards of cleanliness and attention to detail. Strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to handle physical tasks (e.g., lifting, carrying).

Desirable:

Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter or in a similar cleaning role (not essential). A general understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
