The Oxford Science Park is a unique and exciting location, designed specifically for science, technology and business occupiers. Situated within the City boundary in attractive landscaped surroundings, close to the Oxford ring-road and within easy reach of the A34, M4 and M40. A direct bus route to Oxford is also available. The Oxford Science Park is owned by Magdalen College Oxford.
The Magdalen Centre is a purpose-built innovation centre and provides a Coffee Bar, Cafe and Meeting rooms. The Sadler Building is an amenity building, intended as a focal point for the Science Park, providing a Deli Bar, Bar, Brasserie and Meeting rooms.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Main Duties
Receive deliveries from suppliers with necessary monitoring of quality and food safety.
Rapid dispersal of deliveries to appropriate stores or work areas/chefs.
Transfer of waste to the correct external waste bins.
Clean pots, pans and utensils.
Operate the dish washing machine as instructed.
General cleaning of walls, floors and food preparation services.
Periodic cleaning of cooking equipment and similar.
Assist the chef(s) in basic food preparation of vegetables and salad items.
Assist in the service of food.
Work in an efficient manner.
Hygiene, Health & Safety
Carry out any of your own duties or your colleagues or customers or sub-contractors in a safe manner.
Complete the control sheets, such as receipt or rejection of food, refrigerator and freezer temperature monitoring sheets and cleaning schedules.
Ensure a high standard of personal cleanliness at all times; and work in a hygienic way.
Comply with Company and statutory regulations concerning Hygiene, Health & Safety.
Undertake the required cleaning duties of catering equipment, walls, floors, fixtures and fittings.
Safe use of any cleaning chemicals and materials as instructed and in compliance with COSHH regulations.
Other Duties
Carry out other reasonable requests made by a superior.
To work in association with all kinds of food e.g. meats, poultry, fish.
Be present in the workplace at critical times e.g. serving times.
Attend staff meetings as required.
Occasional Duties
Report all accidents, breakages, losses, unsafe working conditions and any other irregularities to your line manager.
Work on occasional special functions, which may sometimes take place outside normal working hours.
Receive any training as may be necessary.
Attend staff meetings where necessary.
The above list of duties and responsibilities is not exhaustive and you may be required to carry out alternative tasks as instructed to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Catering department. This position is mainly based in The Sadler Building, but you may be requested to work in The Magdalen Centre from time to time.

SALARY
24,355.50 per annum pro-rata (12.49 per hour)
HOURS OF WORK
The hours will be 37.5 hours per week. Normal hours of work will be 7:30 am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday, but will occasionally involve weekends and bank holidays. To maintain an efficient service at all times, the successful incumbent will need to be flexible and adapt to the changing priorities and demands of the business to meet customer needs. This is a fulltime permanent position.
HOLIDAY
Holiday entitlement is 25 days per annum, plus bank holidays. Some bank holidays may be regarded as normal working days and may need to be taken at a later date. Some set holidays must be taken when the catering department is closed.
