Overview

We are seeking a dedicated experienced Kitchen Porter to support our busy culinary team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for cleanliness, a positive attitude, and an interest in the hospitality industry. Previous experience in food preparation or restaurant settings is advantageous but not mandatory, as training will be provided. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within a professional kitchen setting.

Duties

Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to ensure hygiene standards are met Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen supervisors Maintaining cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas to uphold health and safety regulations Supporting the organisation of kitchen supplies and stock management Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures Ensuring all equipment is stored correctly after use and reporting any maintenance issues Supporting the team during busy service periods to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications

Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality environments is desirable but not essential Knowledge of kitchen safety and hygiene standards is beneficial Experience working in restaurants, hotels, or catering services is advantageous Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings and weekends if necessary A positive attitude and willingness to learn about culinary operations
