Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of food preparation areas, assisting with basic food handling tasks, and upholding high standards of hygiene and safety. Duties

Washing, cleaning, and sanitising dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness standards are met. Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients. Supporting chefs and kitchen staff with organisational tasks such as restocking supplies and maintaining storage areas. Ensuring the kitchen area is kept tidy and free from hazards at all times. Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations. Adhering to all food safety standards and hygiene protocols to maintain a safe working environment.

Skills

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided. Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques is advantageous. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. A proactive attitude towards cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards. Flexibility to adapt to busy service periods and varying workload demands within a hospitality setting. This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop their skills within the hospitality industry while contributing to a professional kitchen environment.
