Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will support food preparation and assist with general kitchen duties, ensuring high standards of hygiene and safety are upheld at all times. Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within the hospitality industry.

Duties

Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision to support chefs and kitchen staff Ensure all dishes, utensils, pots, and pans are thoroughly cleaned and properly stored Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and kitchen equipment in accordance with health and safety standards Support with organisation of supplies and stock rotation to ensure efficient kitchen operations Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures to uphold hygiene standards Assist with setting up dining areas and clearing tables during service periods when required Follow all health and safety regulations diligently to ensure a safe working environment for all staff

Experience

Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality environments such as restaurants, hotels, or catering services is desirable but not mandatory Familiarity with kitchen equipment and hygiene practices is beneficial Experience in serving or general hospitality roles can be advantageous A proactive attitude with the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to the fast-paced nature of the hospitality industry
