Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced culinary environment. The Kitchen Porter will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area. Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment. Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs, including chopping vegetables and preparing ingredients. Help organise and store food items in accordance with health and safety regulations. Support kitchen staff during busy service periods by ensuring that all necessary tools and ingredients are readily available. Dispose of waste properly and ensure recycling procedures are followed. Maintain an organised work area to promote efficiency within the kitchen. Assist with stock rotation to minimise waste and ensure freshness of ingredients.

Skills

Previous experience in a kitchen environment or restaurant setting is advantageous but not essential. Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques is beneficial. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment. A positive attitude and willingness to help others within a team-oriented atmosphere. Good communication skills to liaise effectively with chefs and other kitchen staff. A keen interest in hospitality, culinary arts, or food service is desirable.
