Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic culinary team. The Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen by assisting with various tasks that support food preparation and cleanliness. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the culinary and hospitality sectors.

Duties

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, pots, and utensils. Assist chefs and cooks with food preparation tasks, ensuring all ingredients are ready for cooking. Help with the storage of food items, ensuring proper rotation and adherence to health and safety standards. Keep work surfaces clean and sanitised to promote a safe cooking environment. Dispose of waste appropriately and assist in maintaining recycling practices within the kitchen. Support the culinary team during busy service periods by providing additional help as needed. Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a compliant working environment.

Skills

Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential. Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques is beneficial. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Excellent teamwork skills with a willingness to help others. A passion for food and an eagerness to learn about culinary practices.

Pay: From 12.50 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
