Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic hospitality team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, ensuring smooth daily operations. The Kitchen Porter will be responsible for supporting kitchen staff by handling basic food preparation tasks, assisting with cooking, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.

Responsibilities



Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to ensure cleanliness standards are met. Assisting with basic food preparation and organisation of ingredients as directed by chefs or kitchen supervisors. Supporting cooking activities by preparing ingredients or assisting with plating when required. Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment throughout the shift. Ensuring waste disposal is managed efficiently and adhering to recycling protocols. Restocking supplies and ensuring all kitchen areas are tidy and organised at all times. Supporting the overall operation of the kitchen during busy periods to facilitate efficient service delivery.

Qualifications



Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided. Knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and kitchen hygiene standards is advantageous. Experience in serving or hospitality roles can be beneficial for understanding customer service expectations. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong organisational skills and a proactive attitude towards cleanliness and safety standards. Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as required by the business needs. Purpose of the Role



To support the kitchen team in preparing and serving meals for residents at Ince Blundell Hall. The Kitchen Porter helps keep the kitchen clean, organised, and efficient, enabling the cooks to focus on meal preparation.
