The candidate should ideally have at least 1 year of demonstrable previous experience as a Kitchen Porter/Assistant in fast-paced restaurants, Although training could be given to the right candidate . Please note this role may require flexibility to work in any one of our four establishments at short notice as a reliever.
This role is a varied role to support in Kitchen porter, Kitchen Assistant to the chefs and supporting the service team.
This position has various shifts available, inclusive of Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner service in our 4 businesses.
- have a positive attitude, friendly and customer-focused.
- report on shift on time and in the prescribed work clothes. (safety gear will be provided)
- Possess knowledge of safely handling detergents and cleaning agents/chemicals.
- Operate dishwasher machine with care.
- Follow all COSHH and safety guidelines, and keep the workplace clean and tidy at all times.
- safely able to lift and carry heavy weights up to 25 kilos.
- able to use two/three sink cleaning method in case of dishwashing equipment downtime.
- be well-organised and calm during busy operational hours.
This role is a seasonal term contract from March 2026 for a minimum of 6 months.
The Hotel Penzance Collection has four businesses in Cornwall: Hotel Penzance Harbour View, Hotel Penzance Promenade, Ministry of Flavour - a dinner-only Indian restaurant and Surf Club Bar & Kitchen in Marazion.
