Position Overview:

As a Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen. You will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization, assisting with food preparation, and supporting the kitchen staff in various tasks. Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and food preparation areas.

- Wash, dry, and store kitchen utensils, dishes, and equipment.

- Assist chefs with food preparation tasks, including chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients.

- Keep the kitchen organized and stocked with necessary supplies.

- Dispose of waste and recycling in accordance with health and safety regulations.

- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.

- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.

- Assist in maintaining stock levels and inventory management.

- Perform other duties as assigned by the kitchen management team.

Requirements:

- Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential.

- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.

- Ability to follow instructions and work under the guidance of senior kitchen staff.

- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (training will be provided).

- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items when necessary.
