Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team at The Lemon Tree cafe. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring a clean and efficient working environment. This position is essential for maintaining the high standards of food preparation and service that our establishment is known for.

Duties

Assist with food preparation tasks. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, and pans. Support chefs during service by ensuring that all necessary utensils and ingredients are readily available. Help with the cleaning and sanitising of kitchen equipment and work surfaces. Ensure that waste is disposed of properly and recycling procedures are followed. Assist in receiving deliveries and storing food items in accordance with health and safety regulations. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen is preferred but not essential. Familiarity with food preparation techniques and basic cooking skills would be advantageous. A background in hospitality or culinary arts will be considered a plus. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude towards learning from experienced chefs.
