Uncle Henry's is a long established family farm owned visitor attraction set in the heart of rural North Lincolnshire. Renowned for producing delicious home made recipes in our kitchen and bakery for sale in our award winning farm shop and cafe. We operate a true farm to fork policy in ecologically powered premises, utilising our own home grown produce and that of other local suppliers.
Due to the retirement of our long standing Kitchen Porter we are seeking a dedicated replacement to join our busy hospitality team. Paid at age related NMW, this role is ideal for individuals passionate about the culinary and hospitality industries, looking to gain valuable experience in a professional kitchen environment. The successful candidate will support the smooth operation of the kitchen by maintaining cleanliness and assisting with basic food preparation tasks. Previous restaurant, hotel, or culinary experience is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills within a dynamic and friendly team.
Duties
Responsible for cleaning dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to ensure hygiene standards are maintained.
Support the kitchen team in maintaining a clean and organised workspace throughout service periods.
Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Restock supplies and ensure that cleaning materials are readily available for kitchen staff.
Adhere to all health and safety policies to promote a safe working environment for all staff members.
Assist the kitchen team with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients under supervision.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or culinary setting is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided for those new to the industry.
Basic understanding of food preparation and kitchen hygiene standards is beneficial.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail are essential.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service times.
Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
