Job Summary:

We are looking for a proactive and organized

Prep Cook

to support our kitchen operations, with a strong focus on preparing ingredients for our popular

fish and chips

, assembling

house-made sauces

, and assisting with

dessert plating and prep

. You'll be instrumental in ensuring consistency, quality, and speed in our fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Fish & Chips Prep

Prepare and portion fresh fish fillets for regular, large, and super jumbo servings. Assist with batter preparation and maintenance throughout service. Hand-cut, blanch, and portion chips; manage fryers during peak times.

Sauces & Sides

Prepare in-house sauces including

Original, Madras, and Chinese Curry Sauces

,

gravy

, and

coleslaw

. Portion and prep accompaniments such as

mushy peas

,

baked beans

, and

salad bowls

.

Desserts & Sweets

Assist with plating and prepping items like

waffles

,

crepes

,

cookie dough

, and

cakes

. Portion toppings (e.g. Ferrero, Biscoff, white chocolate sauce) and ensure sundae stations are fully stocked. Refill ice cream/sundae ingredients and prep plates for items like

Sticky Toffee Pudding

and

Molten Cakes

.

General Kitchen Prep

Chop vegetables, portion proteins, prepare marinades, and label ingredients. Keep prep and dessert stations clean, stocked, and organized throughout shifts. Follow all food safety, hygiene, and allergen protocols.

Skills & Experience:

Previous prep or kitchen experience preferred but not essential - training provided. Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safe food handling (certification is a plus). Ability to follow recipes and prep instructions precisely. Comfortable working with fryers, knives, and hot food environments. Team player with strong communication and time management skills.

Physical Requirements:

Able to stand for extended periods. Able to lift 20-25kg and perform tasks involving bending, reaching, and repetitive motion

Pay: Up to 450.00 per week

Expected hours: 24 - 35 per week
