We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Supervisor to join our busy kitchen. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for food preparation and cooking. As a Kitchen Supervisor, you will oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring that food production meets the highest standards of quality and safety. You will play a crucial role in managing the kitchen staff, maintaining a harmonious work environment, and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Responsibilities
Manage and prepare meals according to the ingredients available, which may change at short notice because of kind donations
??Supervise food preparation, storage, cooking and serving; to include using correct utensils, equipment, food prep boards / knives, temperature gauges, etc.
??Supervise volunteers; an awareness that they are volunteers with varying skill levels and that it is a volunteer staffed kitchen
??Use correct storage and equipment for different dietary requirements
??Keep daily paperwork for all fridge and freezer temperatures, kitchen cleaning and daily checks as required by The Food Standards Agency
??Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen and in all food storage areas
??Manage the ordering of materials, supplies, and ingredients based on demand and provide weekly shopping list for wholesale suppliers
??Organise and store daily food donation deliveries
??Organise menus according to donations received
??Ensure correct use and cleaning of kitchen equipment
??Report any kitchen concerns or faults to the Centre Manager
??Supervise kitchen staffing, rotas and training
??Involved in managing kitchen budget for food and equipment
??To be available for meetings and provide information and reports as required by the Trustees.
