We're looking for a committed and enthusiastic individual to join our small team within our busy farm shop kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and a strong understanding of food production and preparation. Working in our kitchen, you will be responsible for creating a variety of baked goods, ensuring high standards of quality and food safety are maintained throughout the process. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a kitchen environment. This role will also require general shop work duties as needed throughout the day between kitchen tasks, such as manning our deli counters, till work and dealing with deliveries. This is an all-round role with focus on kitchen production.
Starting salary is reflective of previous experience.
The role is full time, but part time could be considered for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities:
Oven work - loading, baking, and unloading products
General kitchen prep and setup
Assisting in the preparation of home-made bakes including scones, sponge cakes, tray bakes, and savoury pastries
Contributing to the presentation and decoration of cakes and sweet treats
Replenishing and maintaining the cake and deli counters to ensure they look their best throughout service
Packing and accurately labelling products for shop sales
Cleaning and maintaining a hygienic workspace
Logging temperatures and following HACCP procedures
Deep cleaning and kitchen maintenance
Our ideal candidate will:
Be presentable and professional
Have some experience in a bakery or professional kitchen environment
Demonstrate strong organisational skills and initiative
Be a reliable team player with a positive, can-do attitude
Able to lift 16kg sacks of flour, other manual handling and capable to withstand long hours on your feet
Take pride in producing high-quality baked goods
Be flexible and willing to work weekends as per rota (every other) and cover staff holidays as needed (essential)
Show a genuine desire to grow and develop within our team
Be willing to occasionally help on shop floor when required
