We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter (KP) to join our dynamic culinary team at Deco - Saltdean Lido. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring that our culinary staff can focus on delivering exceptional food experiences. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience in the hospitality industry, particularly within hotels and restaurants.

Duties

Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs and kitchen staff. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment. Ensure all kitchen surfaces are kept clean and sanitised at all times. Help with the storage of food items and supplies, ensuring proper stock rotation. Support chefs during busy service periods by providing assistance as needed. Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper handling of food items. Participate in regular cleaning schedules for kitchen equipment and appliances.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment A keen interest in culinary arts and a desire to learn from experienced cooks. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards helping others. Good communication skills to interact with kitchen staff effectively. Willingness to undertake various tasks as required within the kitchen setting.
