We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter (KP) with a valid DBS certificate to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff in food preparation and service. This position is essential for ensuring that our culinary operations run smoothly and that we uphold the highest standards of hygiene and safety.
Responsibilities
Assist in food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables.
Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment promptly.
Ensure all kitchen areas are kept tidy and organised throughout the shift.
Support chefs during service by preparing ingredients and assisting with plating as required.
Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
Help with stock rotation and inventory management to minimise waste.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
Skills
Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or culinary setting is highly desirable.
Strong food preparation skills with an understanding of basic cooking techniques.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail to maintain cleanliness standards.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills to interact with kitchen staff and other team members.
