Join the production team at Earlsmere, a long-established manufacturing facility in Wombwell. We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Warehouse Worker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse by handling various tasks related to inventory management, order fulfilment, and maintaining a clean and organised work environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
As a rewind operative you will be responsible for the operation of the rewind machines. You must be a quick learner with strong attention to detail and possess a willingness to help others and work in a team environment.
Full training will be given with a 3-month trial before a permanent contract is agreed.
Duties
To set up and operate the rewind machines and rewind labels onto rolls ensuring the correct core size using the specifications on the job sheet.
Ensure that the labels are cut accurately, and rolls are wound neatly and consistently to meet production requirements.
Using flags to ensure that any quality issues are rectified as part of the quality control process in production, removing all non-conforming products before the final product is sent to the customer.
Inspect and quality check each job before signing off.
Monitor machine performance and report any issues.
Assisting with the labelling and packaging of finished goods and if necessary, assisting with the dispatch of goods.
Taking responsibility for keeping a clean and organized workspace.
Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
Working as part of the team removal of rubbish from the warehouse to the relevant external bins. Assisting the warehouse supervisor with stock control and any other duties required.
Experience
Prior experience operating rewind machines or similar machines in a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
Strong attention to detail is required to minimize any mistakes within production.
The ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language is essential to this role.
Ability to read and interpret production schedules, work instructions and customer orders is essential.
The ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide into units of measure is essential for planning stock and usage of material.
Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Basic computer skills.
Reach counterbalance FLT is advantageous, but not essential.
Physical Requirements
This role is a physically demanding role, especially at busy periods.
Ability to work whilst standing and walking for extended periods of time.
Attention to details to constantly monitor labels for long periods of time.
Ability to lift and carry throughout the working day following the manual handling training provided. Equipment is provided for moving pallets and heavy rolls of material onto/off machines.
Ability to bend, stoop and reach.
General Requirements
