Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 March 2029 in the first instance.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Laboratory Manager to join the Coll/ORahilly/Yeo (COY) Group at the Institute of Metabolic Science - MRC Metabolic Diseases Unit (IMS-MRL). The COY Group comprises three closely aligned research teams focused on the study of energy balance, appetite, body composition and insulin sensitivity and their disruption in disease.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the operational efficiency of the research laboratories. Responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day lab management, ensuring compliance and safety, and coordinating resources across the three research teams. In addition to managerial duties, the role holder will contribute directly to research activities, particularly supporting large-scale genotyping and sequencing projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with proven experience in biomedical research setting and a passion for metabolic science. You should have laboratory management experience and a deep understanding of molecular biology. The role requires expertise in:

Human Tissue Authority (HTA) compliance
Beckman liquid handling robotic programming
Spatial and single-cell next-generation sequencing
Processing clinical samples

The successful candidate must also complete a basic DBS check.
