Redesigning how colours are made.
Sparxell's pioneering pigments are made with cellulose extracted from plants nanostructured in a wide range of vibrant shades. Sparxell's patented technology arises from multiple years of interdisciplinary research performed at the University of Cambridge. Sparxell's ambition is to foster sustainability in advanced materials, with a targeted impact on multiple sectors that heavily rely on colouring matter, from cosmetics to fashion, packaging, paint and food.
2. WHAT WE LOOK FOR:
Working as a part of our Production team, you will execute production activities, scale-up Sparxell's current technology, and contribute to developing its future technological edge. You will be a key player in achieving production at scale, and supporting the Production Lead and Production Technicians in day-to-day activities to achieve monthly production targets.
Your main tasks will involve:

Operating
pilot production processes, which includes state-of-the-art reactors, tanks, heating/cooling systems, mechanical processing equipment, and drying units, etc.

Producing
product at scale as part of the Production Team.

Contributing
to deliver the company's research and production strategy.

Supporting
the optimisation of processes from lab bench to scale-up and production.

Maintaining
laboratory equipment and supplies to ensure their proper functioning. Conducting general laboratory housekeeping.

Troubleshooting
equipment and methodological issues.

Contributing
to setting up and managing protocols.
-
Ensuring
compliance with health and safety regulations.
3. YOUR PROFILE & QUALIFICATIONS:
We are seeking a highly skilled person capable of careful and independent work, familiar with standard laboratory techniques and keen on learning.
You earned at least a
B.Sc., A-level, CGSE or equivalent
with relevant academic and/or industrial experience. Ideally you have a degree in Chemistry (e.g. material, chemical or polymer chemistry). Profiles
without degrees
having relevant professional experience are also highly encouraged to apply.
Preferably you have prior experience in one or more of the following industries, but this is not required:
- Material production in laboratory setting
- Familiarity with QMS & ISO-9001
- Experience of SOP & Work Instruction generation
- Plant-based or bio-based polymer, lignocellulosic
bio-refinery
, pre-treatment and extraction.

Cellulose
material preparation, such as prior experience with suspension, film and coating.
You are
proficient
in various basic laboratory techniques and equipment, which you may optimise independently.
You are keen to engage in a
fast-paced
and exciting working environment in which you will play a decisive role in the company's future success.
You are a
team player
who communicates with passion and accuracy on each project you are part of. Your command of English is good, and you may be fluent in another language.
