Job Overview
To carry out professional and thorough site inspections of land and property assets on behalf
of our client, ensuring that all inspections adhere to health and safety standards, meet
compliance requirements, and inform ongoing risk management and property maintenance
programmes.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular site inspections in line with defined procedures and frequencies set
by client policy.
Follow the RICS Surveying Safely (Professional Standard, Global) standards at all
times.
Prepare detailed inspection reports that include photographic evidence, commentary,
recommendations, and action points using a defined five-point scoring system.
Assign and review risk ratings for each site; adjust ratings where necessary and in
consultation with the client.
Maintain and update a programme of inspections, including scheduling and
frequency of visits.
Report any Emergency or Business Critical hazards that present immediate risk to
the client on the same day.
Ensure timely completion of action points based on risk level: low, medium, or high.
Carry out prior risk assessments of all sites; wear and maintain appropriate PPE in
line with insurance and safety requirements.
Liaise effectively with the client's representative on inspection outcomes, costs of
actions, and scheduling of necessary follow-up works.
Coordinate access and collaboration with specialist contractors, including for
asbestos surveys, water safety checks, tree risk assessments, and general health
and safety requirements.
Advise the client on appropriate security measures and manage relationships with
security providers and maintenance contractors.
Follow company protocols for reporting unexpected incidents on site.
Participate in ongoing training and demonstrate commitment to continuous
professional development.
Reflect on inspection findings and contribute to service improvements and efficiency recommendations.
Skills and Experience
Essential
Knowledge of risk assessment procedures and property safety compliance.
Ability to write clear, structured reports with attention to detail.
Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple sites and inspection
schedules.
Strong communication and liaison skills with clients and contractors. Familiarity with property-related health and safety legislation and practices. Desirable Experience working with public sector or commercial property clients. Demonstrable experience in land and property inspections or estate management. Working knowledge of environmental and security risk management.
Other Requirements
Valid driving licence, and accesSs to a vehicle. A willingness to travel to multiple sites. Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement on site. Flexibility to respond to urgent or emergency issues outside regular working hours if required.
