Job Description

We are currently seeking Landscape Maintenance Operatives to join our team at LDC Ltd based in Guildford, Surrey.

LDC has a history of working on some of the largest and most interesting private and commercial landscape/garden projects in the UK and have won some of the most prestigious awards in the industry including BALI and the RHS Flower Show.

The Landscape Maintenance Operative is responsible for maintaining existing and future landscape maintenance contracts (mainly soft landscape areas and sometimes hard landscape areas) on commercial and private sites. The Landscape Maintenance Operative is responsible for ensuring all maintenance areas are kept to a very high standard with precision and business minded efficiency.

Duties will include:

Grounds Maintenance including mowing, strimming, hedge cutting and pruning. Shrub, hedge and tree planting. Topsoiling. Turfing. Plant care in different environments. Apply growing media and mulches. Irrigation maintenance & monitoring Pest and disease identification and implementation of control methods. Control vegetation and apply methods for clearance and removal of vegetation. Recycling waste.
You will also be required to:

Operate a range of tools, equipment and machinery and regularly check these items to ensure they remain in good working order. In conjunction with the Landscape Maintenance Foreman read and understand contract/architects drawings to ensure maintenance and any defect planting required is completed in line with specification and to standard. Ensures that delivery of materials (where applicable) are checked and discrepancies in quantity and quality are reported to LDC's Contract Manager/Buyer. Ensures that all landscape maintenance/installation work is completed in accordance with LDC's contract with the client. Ensures that all maintenance/installation work is performed in accordance with industry and company standards. Comply with all Health & Safety policies, procedures and working practices. Ensure correct procedures are followed for stock control. Interact/liaises with clients in order to ensure client satisfaction is maintained at all times.

Job Requirements:



The candidate will ideally have some, but not necessarily all, of the following:

Practical experience within the landscape construction industry. A formal qualification in horticulture (preferred). Appropriate CSCS/CPCS competency card/qualifications. PA1/PA6 spray tickets highly advantageous. Full current driving licence. Excellent attention to detail. Takes pride in their work. Excellent customer service skills. Pro active, positive and professional attitude Ability to work within a team. Energetic, physically fit and enthusiastic Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Salary negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.

Pay: 24,420.00-39,107.14 per year
