We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Landscaping Manager to oversee multiple landscaping teams and ensure all projects are completed to the highest standards, on time and within budget. This is a senior position responsible for the day-to-day management of landscaping operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, quality control and team leadership.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities and a deep understanding of landscaping practices, materials and equipment.
Responsibilities
Oversee and manage all landscaping projects from start to completion, ensuring quality, safety and efficiency.
Plan, organise and delegate daily tasks to landscaping teams based on project priorities and workforce availabililty.
Ensure projects are run smoothl by ordering materials and preparing the relevant equipment required for the projects before work commences.
Ensure all work is carried out to the company's high quality standards and in line with client specifications.
Monitor project progress, address challenges proactively and ensure completion within agreed timeframes.
Manage the effective use of company vehicles, tools and equipment to support each team's productivity.
Coordinate deliveries, materials and logistics to ensure seamless project execution.
Supervise and support team leaders and operatives, fostering a positive and motivated work environment.
Conduct regular site visits to inspect work quality, provide guidance and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Liaise with clients, contractors and suppliers to maintain clear communication and resolve any issues promptly.
To visit clients to arrange quotations where required and ensure all necessary information is provided to assist with estimates.
Utilise mechanical knowledge to perform routine maintenance on landscaping equipment and machinery.
Operate excavators for larger landscaping projects as required.
Collaborate with team members on construction projects related to landscape design and implementation.
To ensure teams are dressed appropriately at all times.
To monitor and ensure staff timekeeping is correct.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of tools and work areas to promote safety on-site.
Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their landscaping needs.
To work with Head Gardener to balance resources and team members as required to complete projects.
To support the Company Director in looking after the interests of the company.
To support team members and report any requests to the Company Director.
Qualifications
Proven experience in landscape management or a similar supervisory role..
Strong leadership, organisational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to read and interpret landscape plans and specifications.
Sound knowledge of landscaping techniques, materials and horticultural practices.
Proficient in planning and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as excavators.
Understanding of horticulture principles, including plant care, soil management, and pest control.
Previous experience in landscaping construction is essential.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining a positive attitude.
Full UK Driving Licence
