We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager with a strong background in landscaping. You will oversee the execution of multiple projects, ensuring high quality standards, effective team management and excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
Material Management: Order necessary materials, machinery, and skips for each job. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
Project Planning and Coordination: Review upcoming projects, plans, and instructions. Conduct pre-site visits with customers to familiarise with the job and arrange delivery locations.
Team and Customer Management: On the first day of each project, meet the team at 8:00 am to accept deliveries, relay instructions, and introduce the team to the customer. Act as the primary contact for both the customer and the team throughout the project.
Daily Site Visits: Visit all ongoing projects daily, checking in with customers either in person or via email. Inspect each project's construction daily, ensuring the sub base thickness, paving, drainage, and overall quality meet standards. Maintain team morale.
Progress Reporting and Problem Solving: Take daily photos of each job and communicate progress with the office team through a group chat. Assist teams with queries, changes, and problem-solving, leveraging detailed landscape construction knowledge. Communicate any changes or issues with the office and the customer, adapting plans as needed.
Material and Attendance Management: Collect and deliver ad hoc materials to the site as required. Notify office staff of any team absences.
Performance Tracking: Document daily task durations and material usage, providing feedback to ensure accurate future project pricing. Evaluate each job post-completion to assess adherence to the schedule and budget.
Meetings and Final Inspections: Attend weekly meetings to update on job progress and plan upcoming projects. Conduct final inspections with the team to ensure no snags remain. Meet with customers at job completion to sign off on the project and collect final payments. Encourage customers to leave reviews. Relay customer feedback to the office for social media use.
Aftercare: Handle repair requests from past customers, providing guarantees and repair photos. Assess repair work and schedule necessary teams. Ask customers if they know anyone that may benefit from our service
Qualifications
Proven experience in project management within the landscaping industry.
Strong knowledge of landscape maintenance practices, horticulture, and gardening techniques.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
A proactive approach to problem-solving with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes.
Basic understanding of EXCEL to run reports and track progress.
