We are seeking a Laser Operator to operate a Trumpf fibre laser with sheet feeder. Ideally you will have experience as a laser operator in an engineering production setting. For the right candidate we may be willing to train a new operative who has some form of production engineering experience.
You should have experience of reading engineering drawings. You will be working as part of a team within the sheet metal department and will be taught how to operate a press as part of this role.
Responsibilities
Operate CNC laser cutting machines to produce precision parts according to specifications.
Perform setup and calibration of laser equipment for optimal performance.
Read technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining processes.
Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
Maintain equipment by performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
Collaborate with team members to ensure production goals are met while adhering to safety standards.
Assist in the operation of additional machinery such as CNC milling machines, press brake machines when required.
Document production processes and maintain accurate records of work performed.
Qualifications
Proven experience in CNC laser cutting or related manufacturing processes is desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
Having a counterbalanced forklift licence or experience operating a forklift would be beneficial.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read production drawings.
Ability to use precision measuring instruments for quality inspection purposes.
Knowledge of safety protocols within a manufacturing environment is essential.
