Overview and Purpose of Role

As an important member of the cutting shop team you will be responsible for ensuring that all components are cut accurately and timely to ensure the manufacturing process is efficient in all aspects.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Read and understand engineering drawings Supervise the laser machine during operation Load and unload various cuts of material to suit the job Place all components on pallets and label accordingly Ensure all scrap metal is cleared and deposited in the skip area Carry out any relevant training required Ensure compliance to all general site Rules, Regulations, Policies & Procedures. Any other duties as required by management to suit business needs. Adherence to our ISO 9001 Quality management system. Adherence to company health and safety procedures. Maintain a clean and tidy work area.

Personal Specification

Essential:

Previous experience within a similar environment, operating workshop machinery Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Proven measurement and mathematical skills Experience of labelling parts and keeping the machines clean and in good working order Has proven literacy and numeracy skills Communication - Able to communicate problems/issues at all team members Initiative - Ability to work on their own or as part of their team Versatility/Adaptability - Ability to adjust to change e.g. job machine/process Problem Solving - Ability to fault find, trouble shoot, diagnose and resolve issues Quality - Comply with quality regulations & standards, attention to detail Available to work flexible hours when required with notice

Desirable:

Experience of operating and running laser machines Forklift Truck License An Engineering based Apprenticeship Clean current driving license
