A great opportunity has arisen to join our Application Services team within the IT Department as a Lead Business Systems Analyst. Reporting into the Head of Application Services, closely working with subject matter experts throughout the VDS and acting as the conduit between the IT technical teams and business departments to ensure that the change deliverable meets requirements and is fit for purpose as well as helping to coordinate testing and training as required. Project management responsibilities will be required from time to time, reporting to and ensuring work is aligned with the Head of Application Services. Documentation of clear, detailed system specifications and good technical awareness of delivering software applications.

Key Responsibilities





Primary duties include but not limited to:

Represent the IT Team to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers. Management and mentoring of other Business Analysts within team Requirements gathering from all business areas. Detailed documentation of Functional Specification Run and manage effective workshops to gather and present requirements. To System Test and manage the UAT of changes from 3rd parties and in house development to ensure that they satisfy business requirements To work closely with project managers to deliver projects on time and within budget To work closely with the development team to ensure system design and delivery accurately meets business requirements. To provide training to users and/or trainers Review and improve Project and Business processes to provide business benefit.

Key Requirements





You will have 5 years experience in role in a software development environment, and ideally 1 year managing a small team.


It is essential you have previous experience as Business Analyst. In addition, you ideally will have:

Extensive end-to-end experience of IT system projects and changes Fully conversant in implementation and handover of delivered projects into Business as Usual operations Proven ability to problem-solve with an analytical mindset Financial Services industry experience

And also demonstrating the following skills and behaviours:

Team player, fun, energetic personality, works well under pressure Customer and result oriented Excels working in a small team environment and therefore get things done with more limited resources than they may have had access to in bigger institutions Able to effectively prioritise workload according to business need Eager to learn, pro-active, contribute and share knowledge Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Able to thrive in an environment of continuous change and complexity Able to drive quality insights and deliver high impact projects Excellent written and verbal communication skills High sense of responsibility and a self-starter Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority Well-organized and accurate Excellent presenting skills, able to communicate product, business, technical information with enthusiasm and optimism

Technical Skills





These skills are required to be able to do the role required

Jira software Evidence of experience in a Business Analysis role within an IT Development environment. Experience working within and excellent understanding of full software development lifecycle Experience within a of Prince2 environment MS Project and Project Planning in a software development environment. Experience of change management Experience of dealing and communicating with people from all levels of the business. Certified ISEB/BCS Business Analyst
