Canterbury Breastcare is a centre that offers a uniquely supportive environment where women receive a complete health care service under one roof. We combine the skills of a range of specialists and health professionals who are committed entirely to breast health care - from screening and diagnostic mammography to the surgical and medical management of breast problems. Canterbury Breastcare is a joint venture with Pacific Radiology and local specialist breast surgeons.



We are looking for a Lead Clinical Nurse to join our team here at Canterbury Breastcare.



The Lead Clinical nurse utilises their advanced nursing knowledge and leadership to provide specialist nursing care and management from diagnosis through to post-operative management for patients and their whanau.



This role focuses on improving health outcomes for clients through breast services including diagnostic, screening, assessment, and breast cancer pathways. The successful candidate will leverage their in-depth knowledge to provide nursing care and expertise, both in direct patient care and in supporting women



They will also utilize their leadership specialised Breastcare nursing experience to take ownership of this role.



We are looking for someone with working knowledge of breast screening, breast cancer diagnosis with strong leadership skills and relevant managerial experience of nursing teams.

Your responsibilities will include:



Leadership of the nursing team in providing expert nursing knowledge in the management of patient care, working with the patient, family/whanau and other health professionals to provide specialist nursing care Liaising and collaborating with medical specialists to ensure patient pathway is smooth and well documented Educating patients (& whanau) and facilitate their pathway from diagnosis to treatment Coordinating patient care using organisational and community resources to enhance delivery of care and ideal patient outcome Providing clinical guidance and mentoring to nursing and allied health colleagues Acting as a resource person, providing clinical specialist knowledge to patients and health professionals



To be considered for this role, you must have an Annual Practicing Certificate and be a registered nurse with the Nursing Council of New Zealand, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both with and independently from a team will be key qualities for this role. Experience in Breastcare nursing, and/or nursing management would be considered an advantage.



Please note, appointment to this position will be conditional on a satisfactory Police Vetting and Risk Assessment as per the Children's Act 2014.
